Sometimes when you finish a great book, you feel somewhat let down. You want the journey to continue. Go to Book Seer, type in the name AND author of the book you just finished and a list of recommended titles from Amazon and Library Thing will show up on your screen. It has some really good ideas on things to do to help your first grader to succeed in transitioning from kindergarten to first grade. There are some big adjustments that your child needs to make to be successful in first grade. Check it out.

Summer Reading Tips

I just found this online article with tips and ideas of ways to read in the summer here at The Children's Book Review - Summer Reading Tips. The book mentioned in the article I haven't seen, but I am extremely curious to see what it says. The video at the bottom is worth watching. The classic picture books Pam Allyn chooses are some of my personal ones and the new ones look like they are worth finding. Enjoy!
